Alabama man sentenced to four years for ammunition possession by a felon

PENSACOLA, Florida — Grant Bieber, a 45-year-old from Gulf Shores, Alabama, has been sentenced to four years in federal prison for possession of ammunition by a convicted felon.

The sentence was announced by John P. Heekin, United States Attorney for the Northern District of Florida. “Keeping our communities safe remains the highest priority, and removing dangerous criminals from our streets is how we will achieve that goal,” Heekin stated. He praised the investigative work of state and federal law enforcement partners.

Court documents reveal that on October 28, 2024, Escambia County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a disturbance in Cantonment, Florida. Bieber and a woman were found in her vehicle outside a residence, with Bieber’s truck parked nearby. A search warrant led to the discovery of a box of .22-caliber ammunition and Bieber’s Alabama Driver License in the truck’s center console.
