PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WJAR) — Friday marks 21 years since Providence police Detective Sgt. James “Jimmy” Allen was killed in a brutal attack that shook the department, a loss that colleagues say still weighs heavily on the force today.
Providence Police Chief Oscar Perez, who worked alongside Allen, sat down with NBC 10 to reflect on the legacy of the man he described as a mentor.
