Former Norris bus driver sentenced after drunkenly driving kids

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – The former Norris school bus driver who drunkenly drove students last year was sentenced Friday.

Betty Johnson, 68, was found guilty of a .15+ DUI, first offense reckless driving and negligent child abuse resulting in no injury, all misdemeanors.

She was initially charged with first offense of a .15+ DUI and transporting a child while intoxicated, but the charges were reduced as part of the plea deal. Prosecutors also dropped two other counts of transporting a child while intoxicated…
