RENO, Nev. (KOLO) – A laborers union is ramping up training efforts to prepare workers for a major solar project near Yerington that will bring hundreds of jobs to the region.
LiUNA Local 169 is seeking between 200 and 300 workers for the Libra Sol project, a large-scale solar field spanning 4,000 acres. The positions offer $35.45 per hour plus $6 in remote area pay. Workers can earn anywhere from $500 to $2,500 a week.
“This is going to do great things for Northern Nevada and our local communities,” said Chase Rowe, field representative and business agent for Local 169. “250, 300 plus jobs for our local laborers. The town of Yerington is going to grow and expand.”…
