The Lox Bagel Shop plans second Columbus-area location near Polaris

COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — The Lox Bagel Shop, a Short North eatery known for its hand-rolled bagels and sandwich offerings, is expanding with a second central Ohio location.

The business has filed permits with the city of Columbus to open a new storefront at 2140 Ikea Way, near Polaris Fashion Place. The expansion marks the first additional location for The Lox, which opened its original shop in 2018 at 772 N. High St.

According to the brand’s website, the shop produces “hand-rolled, boiled and baked bagels and bagel sandwiches” that represent “a cross between a New York and Montreal style.” The company says it prides itself “on sourcing the highest quality ingredients as well as sound technique to produce a delicious and enjoyable bagel or bagel sandwich.”

The new Polaris-area shop will located within the Galaxy at Polaris development, a mixed-use project that continues to add retail and dining tenants as it grows.

The $145 million first phase of the development opened in October. The project transformed a 30-acre former concert venue site into a mixed-use destination, including a six-story residential building with 289 apartments, structured parking, green space, and ground-floor retail.
