CONWAY, S.C. – No. 7 Coastal Carolina erased an early four-run deficit and used a steady offensive surge to defeat Georgia State, 15-7, on Friday night at Springs Brooks Stadium.
Georgia State jumped out to a 4-0 lead with four runs in the top of the third inning, but the Chanticleers answered right back. Coastal plated two runs in the bottom of the third and added two more in the fourth to even the score at 4-4.
The Chants kept the pressure on offensively, pushing across six runs in the fifth before continuing the momentum in the sixth inning. Freshman Jackson Winer highlighted the stretch with a two-run home run, his third in the last two games. Winer finished the night 2-for-5 with 2 RBIs…
