PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — More than 14,000 LED finger beam toys have been recalled because they pose an ingestion risk to young children, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.
The LED finger beam lights, manufactured by ZMC Group, contain small button batteries that are easily accessible. The CPSC warned that, if a child swallows a button cell or coin battery, it can cause serious injuries, including internal chemical burns and death.
The toys also violate the mandatory safety standard for children’s toys.
