Major LNG project spurs new shipyard jobs in Southeast Louisiana

A Belle Chasse shipyard is getting a new contract that could mean more jobs in southeast Louisiana in the future.

Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry announced today that Woodside Energy is developing a new liquefied natural gas (LNG) project in Lake Charles.

“They represent the largest foreign investment in the state’s history, over $17 billion, and right now, we’ve got over a $100 billion worth of private investment that has come into the state that — we’ve never seen that,” Landry said…
