Alabama Ethics Commission Executive Director Tom Albritton has resigned from the board of the Mabel Amos Memorial Fund as part of a dispute over allegations of self-dealing.
It is the latest development in a years-long legal dispute over the scholarship fund named in honor of a Conecuh County native who was Alabama’s Secretary of State from 1967 until 1975. Amos died in 1999.
