Boy, 6, wounded in shooting at North Toledo park

A 6-year-old boy was shot Friday night in a North Toledo park by what police believe was stray gunfire from an argument near where he was playing.

The boy was hit “in the lower extremities,” and he was treated at a nearby hospital for injury that was “serious but not life-threatening,” Sgt. Mohamad Nasser, a Toledo Police Department spokesman, said Saturday.

Multiple police crews responded about 9:30 p.m. to Joe E. Brown Park for the shooting call and then to a residential property several blocks away where several people were detained. The latter response was shown live on the Reelz cable-television show On Patrol: Live
