South Austin sourdough favorite ThoroughBread has quietly gone big-time in Mueller, opening its new concept, ThoroughFare, after a low-key soft launch in March. The hybrid bakery, café, deli and grocery is already up and running and will throw a public grand opening party from 4–8 p.m. on May 21. For longtime fans who lined up for loaves and those famously thick chocolate chip cookies, this is the brand’s biggest leap yet, taking it from pop-ups and a single storefront into a full-fledged neighborhood market.
What the shop promises
ThoroughFare pitches itself as a house-made grocery built on a “Nothing Artificial” standard, and the team says it skips seed oils, artificial preservatives, colors, flavors, gums and fillers across the board. According to ThoroughFare, the idea is to apply the same ingredient-first philosophy that shaped ThoroughBread’s bakery case to a broader setup that spans a deli, café and market.
