Man charged in fatal hit-and-run near zoo

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — A hearing is scheduled Monday for a man who was formally charged last week in connection to a fatal hit-and-run near the Sedgwick County Zoo.

It happened shortly after midnight, Sunday, March 15 on Windmill Road between 13th Street and Zoo Boulevard. Wichita police said Adam Wayne Condit, 29, of Wichita died after he was struck by a pickup truck that fled the scene.

Witnesses stopped to help the man and called 911. Condit was pronounced dead at the scene.
