Hogs T5 After 36 Holes at SEC Championship

BELLEAIR, Fla. –No. 6 Arkansas women’s golf shot a 2-under 278 for the second day in a row and rose one spot to T5 on the SEC Championship leaderboard in Saturday’s second round.

The Hogs will need a top eight finish in Sunday’s final round of stroke play to advance to match play on Monday. Texas leads the field at 10-under and the projected cut line sits at 1-under.

Maria Jose Marin tied Tennessee’s Kyra Van Kan for the lowest round of the day with a 5-under 65. Marin bounced back after a 3-over start to Friday’s first round and birdied her first two holes, Nos. 10 and 11. She closed out her first nine with a pair of birdies on Nos. 17 and 18, thanks to approach shots within a few feet of the pins. Her fifth birdie came on No. 1, her tenth hole of the day.
