Track and Field Turn in Strong Showing at Calvin Invite

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Adrian College track and field teams traveled east on Saturday to compete in the Knight Invite, hosted by Calvin University. The Bulldogs turned in several strong performances, highlighted by multiple event wins on both the men’s and women’s sides.

Leading the way for the men was Jaymes Vines, who won the 100-meter dash in 11.38 seconds and anchored the winning 4×100-meter relay team that finished in 42.42 seconds. Joining Vines on the relay were Cal DeLise, Brandon Berry, and Asher Cousino. DeLise also placed second in the 100-meter dash with a time of 11.43 seconds and finished second in the 200-meter dash in 22.14 seconds.

Will Houvener paced the distance events with a first-place finish in the 5,000-meter run, crossing in 15:30. In the field events, Ian Chavis tied for sixth in the long jump with a leap of 5.77 meters, while Forest Schroeder finished eighth at 5.70 meters. KJ Scott added a fourth-place finish in the discus with a throw of 44.46 meters, and Matthew Cunningham placed sixth in the javelin…
