NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – Metro Police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash that killed a 66-year-old bicyclist early Saturday morning in south Nashville.
Police were called to Harding Place near Tampa Drive around 1:30 a.m. for a man lying unresponsive in the road. When crews arrived, they found the 66-year-old man who was hit by a car from behind while biking. Police said the driver is still on the run.
Vehicle description
Police believe the driver may have been operating a 2016 to 2018 Nissan Altima based on a part found at the scene. Police added that the car will likely have damage on the front and may possibly be missing a headlight.
Area resident describes road conditions
A woman who lives in the area and wished to remain anonymous said she was involved in a hit-and-run a year ago just feet away from where Saturday’s crash happened.
“It was a very traumatizing experience, and it’s a very busy road,” she said. “It seems to happen around midnight where these car crashes happen.”…
