Free clothing event supports women in Amarillo

AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) — Dozens of women gathered Saturday for a free clothing event aimed at helping those in need build confidence and prepare for new opportunities.

The Lucille and Leo Caiafa Jr. Center for Advancement, an outreach program of Sharing Hope Ministry, hosted its Spring Clothing Extravaganza, offering professional and everyday clothing at no cost.

Organizers said the event is designed to support women facing a variety of challenges, including financial hardship, recovery and re-entering the workforce.

“What we’re doing is allowing women from our community to come and shop in the interim, be able to just pick out some clothes, whether it’s for a job interview, workplace, or they just want to look a little bit nicer to go to church or to an event,” said Kim Lester, resource coordinator for the center…
