BUFFALO, N.Y. — A Buffalo man convicted of illegally possessing a firearm and ammunition as a felon and possessing cocaine with intent to distribute has been sentenced to 48 months in prison.
Gilbert Santiago, 39, received the sentence Thursday in federal court.
Federal prosecutors said Santiago was previously convicted of felony crimes in Erie County Court in December of 2013 and July of 2014, making him legally prohibited from possessing a firearm. Investigators executed a search warrant at Santiago’s home in the City of Tonawanda in August of 2019, and during that search, police recovered “a .22 semi-automatic rifle and 30 rounds of ammunition.”…
