Expect a cool start to the work week in the Piedmont Triad

PIEDMONT TRIAD, N.C. (WGHP) — Clear skies and cold temperatures Sunday night into Monday morning. We’ll start the work week off with morning lows in the low 40s. Afternoon highs will be on the cooler side, only reaching the mid 60s with mostly sunny skies.

Winds will be out of the northwest at 10 to 15 mph with gusts to 30 mph. Gusty winds, low humidity and very dry ground will make for another day with very high fire danger. A statewide burn ban remains in effect and any open flame is considered illegal right now (campfires/bonfires, grills without a cover, etc.)

One more “colder” day on Tuesday before the heat builds back in for the rest of the week. We’ll watch for the potential of frost on Tuesday morning as temperatures fall into the mid 30s. If you have sensitive plants/crops/vegetation, make sure you protect them from the cold/frost. Afternoon highs warm into the upper 60s with mostly sunny skies…
