URBANDALE, Iowa — A sinkhole that opened in Urbandale last week has grown significantly, aided by severe weather across the metro.
On April 11, the Urbandale Police Department says they were notified that a sinkhole had opened up around 11 a.m. along Camelot Drive and Buckingham Square, located near the Westpointe Apartment and Townhomes.
Last week, officials had taped off the area and placed several barricades. Due to its growth and the risk posed to people in the area, several fences have now been placed. The sinkhole sits on private property; however, Urbandale police and city officials have been closely monitoring the area…
