Illinois awards $325K for America 250 public art

Twenty-two Illinois communities, including Rockford and Freeport, received a share of more than $325,000 to support public art projects celebrating the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.

The Illinois Arts Council, in partnership with the Office of the Governor and Illinois Humanities, awarded the grants as part of a statewide effort led by the Illinois America 250 Commission, according to a community announcement.
