ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — ComEd is launching a $12.5 million relief fund to assist eligible business owners who have fallen behind on their electric bills. The initiative aims to provide some relief for businesses grappling with higher electric bills this summer, which are largely fueled by increased demand from data centers.
The utility will provide a one-time matching grant of up to $500 to qualifying businesses.
