ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) – Over the weekend, NWS Quad Cities and NWS Chicago confirmed a total of four tornadoes across the stateline from Friday afternoon’s outbreak. The strongest tornado, which blew through Lena, was given a preliminary rating of a high end EF2. Now, our attention turns to colder temperatures moving in from the northwest. A Freeze Warning has been issued for the viewing area from midnight until 9am Monday, as lows could dip into the upper 20s in some spots. If you have any plants that are sensitive to the cold, make sure to either cover them or bring them in for the night.
