Guide dog handlers face access challenges despite legal protections

TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – Guide Dogs for the Blind is marking April as its first advocacy month for guide dogs, highlighting challenges handlers face in public access.

There are about 500,000 service animals working in America, according to nonprofit Ability Central.
