‘No credible threat’ at Valley Mall after investigation; building reopened

HARRISONBURG, Va. (WHSV) – Valley Mall on East Market Street in Harrisonburg has reopened after a bomb threat about a business located in the mall prompted evacuations and a heavy police presence in the area Monday afternoon as law enforcement investigated.

Michael Parks, the city of Harrisonburg’s director of communications and public engagement, said the business that was threatened was evacuated, as was the rest of the mall, as per mall policy.

“The community will see a large emergency response team presence in this area until the investigation is complete, but there is no action the community needs to take at this time,” Parks said in an email to WHSV at 3:46 p.m…
