PORTSMOUTH, Va. (WAVY) – Contractor crews with the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) have temporarily closed the Towne Point Road on-ramp to Route 164 west in Portsmouth.
The multi-week closure will allow for sound wall construction along Route 164 west from Towne Point Road to a half-mile east of College Drive, according to a release from VDOT.
The closure, which was implemented at 7 a.m. on April 20, is for removing and replacing existing sound wall panels along the ramp. The work is expected to continue through May 3 at 3 p.m. This is the first of two scheduled multi-week closures for the on-ramp to complete work at this location…
