Ferndale Shuts Down Nine Mile For Massive May 30 Pride Takeover

Downtown Ferndale is clearing the cars and rolling out the rainbow on May 30, when West Nine Mile between Woodward and Livernois will shut down for what organizers describe as one of the region’s biggest Pride street festivals. Thousands are expected to pack the city’s self-described “gayborhood” for a full day of music, drag, food and family programming. The free event brings a massive vendor row and three stages of entertainment to the corridor, bills itself as Michigan’s largest free-to-the-public LGBTQAI+ celebration, and is open to all ages.

What to Expect on May 30

The main festival footprint is scheduled to run from roughly 1 p.m. to 10 p.m. Organizers say booths are typically open from 1 to 8 p.m., with live sets continuing into the evening. An event listing notes roughly 220 vendor booths and three stage areas in downtown Ferndale, according to Eventeny.
