Man Identified Following Fatal 14 Freeway Crash

The man who died in a 14 Freeway crash last week in Santa Clarita has been identified.

Christopher Washington, 55, from Los Angeles, was the man who died in the 14 Freeway crash, officials with the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office announced Monday.

Around 12:30 a.m. Monday, April 13, 2026, first responders received reports of a vehicle facing sideways in the HOV lane of the southbound 14 Freeway north of Via Princessa in Canyon Country, said Officer Carlos Burgos-Lopez, spokesperson for the California Highway Patrol (CHP) Newhall Area Office.

“Units responded to the scene and located a silver Dodge Neon blocking the SR-14 southbound HOV lane. A solo male occupant was located in the driver’s seat,” Burgos-Lopez said. “The driver was unresponsive and officers on scene began life saving measures until Los Angeles County Fire Department arrived on scene.”…
