Father accused of causing 2-month-old baby’s brain bleed, broken ribs at Grand Dunes home

NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WPDE) — A North Myrtle Beach father was arrested after his two-month-old was believed to have been shaken or abused at his Grand Dunes home, causing serious injuries, according to the North Myrtle Beach Police Department.

Gavin Tyler Bell, 22, was charged with unlawful conduct towards a child on Thursday.

On April 10, police responded to the Grand Strand Emergency Room in reference to a potential child abuse case. After speaking with Horry County police officers, a DSS caseworker, and the child’s parents, it was discovered that the child was airlifted to MUSC Hospital and had a subdural hematoma and fractured ribs, reports said…
