San Diego is easing into the week partly cloudy and mild, with temperatures near 59°F at San Diego International Airport and inland areas headed for the upper 60s to low 70s by midday. Skies turn mostly sunny this afternoon with a high near 71°F, light west winds, and some gustier sea-breeze pockets along exposed coastal slopes.
Afternoon Winds Pick Up
Onshore flow will strengthen through the day, bringing breezier conditions to exposed slopes and inland valleys this afternoon and evening. West and southwest gusts are expected to reach roughly 30–40 mph across mountain and desert faces, then ramp up to more widespread 40–50 mph gusts tomorrow, with isolated bursts up to 65 mph in favored passes. Those kinds of gusts can create sudden crosswinds for high-profile vehicles. According to the National Weather Service San Diego, residents should secure loose patio furniture and use extra caution on canyon and pass routes.
