SYRACUSE, N.Y. — Motorists should plan for overnight detours this week as bridge work tied to the I-81 Viaduct Project temporarily shuts down a stretch of I-481.
The New York State Department of Transportation said I-481 southbound will be closed to traffic between Exit 1 (Brighton Avenue/Downtown Syracuse) and I-81 southbound in Syracuse, from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. It will begin Tuesday, April 21, and will end on Friday, April 24.
Motorists are advised to follow the signed detour at Exit 1 (Brighton Ave/Downtown Syracuse), take north on East Brighton Avenue, then south on South State Street, to I-81 southbound…
