COPIAH COUNTY, Miss. (WJTV) – Copiah County deputies are investigating after a man was found deceased with a gunshot wound.
Copiah County Sheriff Byron Swilley said the sheriff’s office received a call about the incident just before 11:45 a.m. on April 20, 2026.

According to the sheriff, a family member found Benjamin Price, 39, deceased in the rear of a home on Johnson Lane. His body was transported to the Mississippi State Crime Lab for an autopsy.
The case has been classified as a death investigation. Anyone with information can contact the Copiah County Sheriff’s Office.
