LANSING, Mich. (WILX) – Changes to downtown parking fees, a data center moratorium, and decisions that could impact neighborhood businesses and even the future of a downtown landmark were all on a packed agenda at Monday’s Lansing City Council meeting.
Earlier in the evening, city council members discussed the proposed sale of the Lansing Shuffle, a historic landmark. With a lengthy discussion on changing legal language within the sale details, Council member Ryan Kost expressed hesitation in voting for the sale to go on the August ballot as it’s “still quite confusing,” even after wording changes.
Residents also had the chance to weigh in on proposed parking changes in Downtown Lansing during a public hearing Monday. The proposed plan would delay the start of daily parking enforcement to 9 a.m. instead of 8 a.m. and increase fines, though drivers would be able to pay a reduced fine for parking meter violations if it’s paid by midnight on the day of the violation…
