Austin woman chases intruder out of home during ‘terrifying’ invasion

AUSTIN (KXAN) — “I grabbed my gun, I yelled at the man to get out of my house and that I was going to shoot him,” Shayla Worley said.

A brief description that summed up a night of terror at her Nueces Street home on the edge of downtown Austin last fall.

“I realize there’s someone in my house,” she went on. “I can see them very quickly going in and out of every bedroom. I hear my front door open and close.”

She said she was able to chase the man out of her home, which is on the second story of her complex. Once things settled, she called 911, an experience she called “disappointing and confusing.”…
