The City of Benton invites residents and community members to attend a special Liberty Tree Planting Ceremony at Benton City Hall on Thursday, April 24, at 10:00 a.m. The ceremony will commemorate America’s upcoming 250th anniversary in 2026 and celebrate the enduring ideals of freedom and civic unity.
The event is part of the Liberty Tree Project, a nationwide initiative led by the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR). The project seeks to plant commemorative trees in all 50 states to honor the Semiquincentennial of the United States and the important role Liberty Trees played during the American Revolution.
The original Liberty Tree in Boston became a powerful symbol of colonial resistance and a gathering place for patriots advocating for independence.
