NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) — A woman died Tuesday morning after she was struck by a car in the area of 29th Street and Warwick Boulevard in Newport News, police said.
Around 5:47 a.m., Newport News Police responded to a crash in the area, and when officers arrived, they found a woman, later identified as Meggan Thompson, 52, of Newport News, in the road suffering from serious injuries, according to police. She was taken to a hospital, where she later died, police said.
A preliminary investigation indicates that a sedan driven by another woman was heading northbound on Warwick Boulevard when it struck Thompson, police said…
