WILLOWICK, Ohio — A tenant at a Willowick apartment complex said she went without running water for weeks, only to receive an eviction threat after getting lawyers involved. So far, the property owner has been mum on the accusations.
On Friday, Kriss Smith filed the lawsuit in Lake County Court of Common Pleas against Shoregate Towers, Dynasty Properties and two individuals who previously owned Shoregate.
The apartment’s residents, Smith, her teenage son and 78-year-old mother, went 40 days without running water, which is a housing code violation. Once they got their attorneys involved, the apartment complex restored their access to running water, but threatened to evict them for unpaid rent shortly after, the suit said…
