Deputies: Convicted felon caught with fentanyl, gun in Escambia County traffic stop

ESCAMBIA COUNTY, Fla. — A 43-year-old man is facing several charges, including fentanyl trafficking, following a traffic stop overnight.

Jonathan Broadwater was booked into Escambia County Jail Tuesday morning on these charges:

  • possession of a firearm by a convicted felon
  • concealing a firearm during the commission of a felony (fentanyl trafficking)
  • violation of a domestic violence injunction (by possessing a firearm against the order
  • trafficking fentanyl
  • possession of a controlled substance without a prescription
  • possession of drug paraphernalia

Escambia County deputies conducted a traffic stop at Airway Drive and Prichard Avenue.
