LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A hiker was found and rescued by a Metro Search and Rescue helicopter after leaving the South Loop Trail near Griffith Peak on Monday.
The hiker couldn’t find the trail. Overnight temperatures at that altitude drop below freezing.
Metro’s AIR1 located the hiker, who was not injured, and dropped a rescuer at an altitude of about 9,800 feet. Griffith Peak, which is southeast of Charleston Peak, rises to 11,060 feet.
