GEORGETOWN COUNTY, S.C. (WCIV) — Georgetown County deputies took a man into custody Tuesday following a vehicle pursuit that ended in a crash.
The chase began on Highway 17 south of Pawleys Island, according to the Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office. It ended when the driver, identified only as a man and the sole occupant of the vehicle, crashed into a light pole on Waverly Road just south of Waccamaw Elementary School, the sheriff’s office said.
The road was closed for a period of time as the wreck was cleared. GCSO said charges are pending against the driver. No further details were available as of publication…
