Collision averted by 2 planes landing at JFK Airport: FAA

NEW YORK (PIX11) — A close call between two passenger airplanes was reported at John F. Kennedy Airport, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.

The incident happened around 2:35 p.m. on Monday.

Republic Airways Flight 4464, operating for American Airlines, had to perform a go-around after the plane initially failed to reach the intended flight path. The Embraer ERJ 175 regional jet was flying in from Indianapolis.
