WEST NORRITON — Norristown Area School Board members at a board workshop session Monday mulled the possibility of removing a cabinet position focusing on diversity, equity and inclusion.
The item listed under the work session’s human resources recommendations suggested the “dissolution/removal of the chief diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging officer position, effective June 30,” and installing a new “chief of schools position effective July 1.”
Human Resources Director Tanya Festa-Piedra provided no comments or additional information surrounding the personnel move. While no school board members or other cabinet leaders spoke on the matter, a vote is expected next week…
