SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — With the Route 66 Centennial Kickoff Celebration approaching, those traveling around town will notice several sculptures popping up that reflect Springfield as the Birthplace of Route 66.
The “Springfield 66: Centennial Sculpture Series” has already begun taking shape across the city, with 16 sculptures planned across town. It features unique sculptures which will eventually form a self-guided trail. “Visit Springfield” has helped organize the initiative along with multiple artists having a hand in creating the sculptures.
