Springfield DWI incident: Children test positive for drugs

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Recent court dockets filed reveal a 2025 incident where a Springfield woman drove while impaired with two children, with the kids later testing positive for methamphetamine.

According to online court dockets, Danielle Koester, born in 1993, has been charged with felonies of two counts of endangering the welfare of a child involving drugs and possession of a controlled substance. The woman is also charged with misdemeanor of two counts of DWI with a person less than 17 years of age in the vehicle.

The probable cause statement says Springfield police responded to the incident on May 28, 2025, when they located the driver of a blue Ford F150, identified as Koester, in a gas station parking lot.

Officers state that during the examination of the vehicle, they found the children in the back seat, with Koester in the driver’s seat, with bloodshot and watery eyes…
