The family of a 47-year-old Canton woman found dead near a creek on the city’s southeast side is speaking out, calling for answers and justice as police continue their investigation.
Authorities said the body of Charise M. Otis was discovered around 2:45 p.m. April 14 near the water in the 1600 block of Third Street SE. According to dispatch audio, a 911 caller initially reported what “kind of” looked like a body before confirming it appeared to be a full human body lying close to the creek.
Police said Otis was found wrapped in blankets and secured with a ratchet strap. She was transported to the Stark County Coroner’s Office, and an autopsy is expected to be conducted at the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office.
