Officials break ground on GA-400 express lanes project

ALPHARETTA, Ga. — Officials gathered Wednesday in Alpharetta for a ceremonial groundbreaking of a new express lanes project serving GA-400, a “multi-billion-dollar investment set to transform mobility” in Fulton and Forsyth counties.

The Georgia Department of Transportation is partnering with True North 400, a north Fulton business consortium, and another private entity, SR 400 Peach Partners, for the project.

Its scope will include “new, optional tolled express lanes from the North Springs MARTA Station to just north of McFarland Parkway” according to GDOT. The agency has described it as the “largest transportation infrastructure project in state history” and True North 400 says it will “enhance connectivity, reduce congestion and support smart growth in the region.”…
