11-plus pounds of fentanyl off the streets after Georgetown County arrest

GEORGETOWN COUNTY, S.C. (WBTW) – Georgetown County authorities removed more than 11 pounds of the dangerous drug fentanyl from circulation on Tuesday after a traffic stop near Pawleys Island, Sheriff Carter Weaver’s Office said.

Orlando Sanders, 38, fled from deputies when they tried to pull over his SUV on Highway 17, Weaver’s office said. The SUV eventually hit a light pole and crashed on Waverly Road, where Sanders was arrested.

Deputies initially found a kilo of fentanyl inside the SUV. That led authorities to search a home at 130 Kaminski Street in Georgetown, where they found more illegal narcotics, drug paraphernalia, cash and a gun…
