Gov. Stitt touts new law aimed at improving Oklahoma education

OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) — A measure meant to improve Oklahoma’s low childhood literacy rates is now law.

Gov. Kevin Stitt held a ceremonial bill signing at Oklahoma City’s John Rex Elementary School Tuesday morning.

The “Strong Readers Act” promises more training for teachers to ensure students can read at their grade level by the third grade; those who cannot will be held back.
