Hit-and-run driver flees crash site that partly closed I-5 near Woodburn

The driver of a Ford SUV who slammed into another vehicle and closed two lanes of Interstate 5 near Woodburn April 21 fled the scene as officials worked to open the road and get the other driver to the hospital, police say.

The Oregon Department of Transportation was notified of a crash on the southbound lanes of I-5 about six miles south of Woodburn at about 9 p.m., agency officials said. A red Ford Edge had rear-ended a blue Chevrolet Suburban C15, Oregon State Police said.

The driver of the Edge fled on foot and the driver of the Chevy was picked up by an ambulance and taken to a hospital, police said…
