Tucson Dragway program lets teens race legally, safely

TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – Street racing continues to be a widespread problem in Tucson, and police say the number of cases they took enforcement action on rose last year.

Tucson Police noted 15 street racing violations in 2025, each resulting in an arrest or citation. That’s up from four in 2024 and five in 2023, though still far lower than levels seen earlier in the last decade.

In total, police say 162 people have been arrested or cited for street racing since 2017…
