Greensboro police issue more citations for running stop signs

GREENSBORO, N.C. (WGHP) — Greensboro’s police department says the number one complaint they get from the public is traffic concerns.

In 2022, following the pandemic and triple-digit staff vacancies, the department was forced to cut the traffic enforcement unit.

The unit has been back for a little over a year and is out looking for bad drivers.

For about 15 months, FOX8 has been checking in on one area in particular in downtown Greensboro, where dozens of people have driven through stop signs, and have wanted to know if police are cracking down.

The area surrounding North Davie Street and Abe Brenner Place has a children’s park, LeBauer Park and the Steven Tanger Center for the Performing Arts, which are all big draws for lots of pedestrians…
